Ford F-150, Expedition, Lincoln Navigator and Mark LT users, look out for the newest 22-inch truck wheel out in the market. ROUSH Performance, a growing presence in the wheel market has released their new 22-inch truck wheel.
The ROUSH 22-inch chrome wheel is forged by liquid, which offers greater strength and considerably lighter than typical cast wheels. In combination, the wheel and tire both weight approximately nine pounds less than a cast 20-inch model with tire. Liquid forged processing, the newest innovation and technological advancement in chrome wheel manufacturing, uses the same high pressure of around 3000 tons similar to that of standard forging. The difference comes in that the aluminum used is in a liquid form instead of a solid block. A great advantage of the liquid forging is by using a mold it gives the strength of a forged wheel but a variety of design capabilities of cast models. Consumers can choose from a wide selection of unique designs.
The process the wheel undergoes produces much stronger metal properties thus requiring less material to meet the SAE durability validation requirement. With less material, the wheel is generally lighter yet possesses the same strength characteristics.
They offer a six-spoke design available in three configurations that would instantly add flair to your ride.
If you prefer to customize your car by lowering it a bit keep in mind that only a certain height works for 22-inch tires. A 60mm drop may look really cool but it will make your ride rough and could cause rubbing on your tires. The best drop to minimize rubbing would be 40 mm.
When purchasing 22-inch tires, keep in mind to prioritize the car’s performance with style first by making sure the tire you selected would adapt well with your car’s suspension, engine and body style.
